Story of himself

The story Songs to myself to me is one of mystery and truth. Having a hard time understanding at first what Walt Whitman was talking about it finally dawned on me when I realized what he meant as a whole. In the story he compares and relates things together saying we all are the same in many different ways. And I enjoyed reading the material once I understood because he was unbiased in the things he felt. I title this Story of himself because regardless of how important also relevant his points are he still is who is is and can't fully be compared to this vast nation as a whole. Not taking away from what he stated and implied I just personally feel that he was right in many areas of which he suggested but at the end of the day a suggestion is just a suggestion. I really enjoyed reading this poem not only for the complex and hard usage of words but what they meant.
